Fall Photo Shoot

Jari and I love fall. It is hard to beat the crisp air, the cool temperatures that beg you to wear a sweater and cuddle yet warm you up when you stand in the sun. And of course the best part is the changing leaves and colors that inspire you constantly. Usually this kind of fall lasts only 2 weeks here but God was good to us and extended the season long enough for me to see it (I was traveling for work during the time I had anticipated the magical changes described). So one Sunday after our church meetings we decided to go snap a few photos. Camille can be expressive when she wants to be. And Charlotte can be sassy. One good looking family. I was so happy to be home again and share this moment with them So as not to lose out on a single moment we went for a walk that night just to enjoy the colors.

South Korea. It's like Korea...but South

After I had finally accepted the fact that my family and I were moving to Korea, a facetious post started swirling around in my head. It was going to be a Top Reasons Everyone Should Live in Korea-type post. It was going to include some content like the following: 1. There are tons of bright signs for easy reading so my kids and I will never be lost. 2. The potato bar is amazing! And you don't have to worry about washing dishes. Or feeling jealous about what your neighbor ordered. 3. If potatoes aren't your thing (don't tell me cuz I'm an Idaho girl) then you can freely participate in the consumption of a live animal that 8/7 of the rest of the world doesn't understand. *Yes, that fraction is both scientific fact and written correctly because some of us don't understand it so much it counts for double. 4. Slow Learner

For those of you who have seen the movie "28 Days" with Sandra Bullock, you will remember a scene in the film where the group going through rehab is required to approach a horse and get it to lift its leg off the ground. One after another they make the attempt, failing each time. Finally, the owner of the horse says, "Folks, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result." (That might not be an exact quote but just go with it). While I laughed at the movie, I never was able to put myself in their shoes. After all, I'd like to think of myself as having at least average intelligence. As it turns out, I too learn at a little slower pace sometimes. To demonstrate this I shall call your attention to exhibit A: Go ahead and say it - I know you want to.
