Friendship Festival

Each year at Osan, the City of Pyeongtaek hosts a 2-day festival full of food and music to celebrate the working relationship we have with Korea. We ventured out the first night with our friends the Stacey's and found some yummy food.

Hazel, Charlotte, and Sophie

Charlotte asked for what she thought were chicken nuggets. Turned out to be fried shrimp which I thought was good. No one else cared for them

I was not sure what most of the food was. But we did find lots of squid, octopus, fish, and chicken.

Here is a slab of a pig on the rotating grill.

Here is John looking for some American food. The Stacey's have admitted to not enjoying the local cuisine as much as some.

The Stacey's did buy a coconut to share. The girls were not a fan of coconut water.

The chicken sold by street vendors can be hit or miss, but this one was very much a hit. So good! Had grilled veggies and pineapple between pieces of chicken with some sauces on top.

My favorite? The churros and soft-serve ice cream. Apparently, the Korean people love churros which was news to me.

Gelato. I think Zachary was just ready for bed.

These were waffles with ice cream in between. SOOOO DELICIOUS!

Lots of people in the street.

The Stacey's from our ward. He works in flight medicine here and eventually wants to do an orthopedic residency. Amber volunteers in the ER as a nurse on occasion. Both are great people and we are happy to have them as friends.
