Mommy School

Being that we don't speak Korean, and Charlotte's teachers don't speak English, it should not be surprising that we thought she would be on winter break for 2 weeks only to find out today that such a break does not exist. So today the girls stayed home for what they call "Mommy School." They had a great time and continue to learn and grow. Here are some pictures.

Hazel learned about the letter B and with the exception of a few of these, she traced each one herself. Way to go Hazel!

Here is a picture. Guess what it is then let her explain below. My guess was a blue sweet potato.

Hazel explains here this is a picture of Mommy. She drew her head, arms, legs, and hair.)

Jari explained to Charlotte that whenever you get a piece of paper in school, the first thing you should do is put your name on the top. Charlotte took this advice and followed it as pictured above. Evidence that she is learning Korean! I am jealous of her growing skill and very proud of her.

Charlotte practiced some math and read a book. Jari asked her to draw something about part of the story. She chose the net and then made a picture of her catching butterflies with the net.

Tomorrow she will go back to school, though she is not thrilled about this because as she puts it, "This is my vacation time!" Jari hopes to meet with the teacher on Thursday and from there we will decide if we should keep Charlotte there or send her to the "English school" as she calls it on base. Clearly, the Korean preschool has been a great opportunity. I sometimes wish we could live the experience twice so that our kids could try it all. I guess we just pray and do our best.
