Charlotte got a science experiments book for Christmas and finally pinned me down to help her do an experiment. Here we are learning about density.
We filled a glass with water, and another 2 with sugar water. We place grapes in each. As you can see the grape in water alone sunk while the grape in sugar water floats. The third cup had water spooned in carefully on top of the sugar water and it created 2 layers thus giving the appearance of a grape floating in the water.
To help visualize this a little we expanded this to honey, water and oil.
I think both girls learned something and had some fun.
