Hiking Blueberry Knoll

Guest Post: Hazel Nielson

I am going to write about this summer when we went hiking as a family near Anchorage, AK.

As we walked we came across something that looked like bear scat. It did NOT smell good at all.

We found some red flours on our way up.

We all had a really good time. Just before we left I found a hart shaped pillow and kept it on my wrist the whole time.

At first the roots were really fun but then the ground become more wet and it was really slippery. Coming down the path was also challenging and we all slipped a lot.

We found some trees that we could sit in side of like it was a throne. Charlotte was not enthusiastic  about taking a photo next to a tree. We stop to take a photo and Charlotte, Zachary and Camille decided to bust a move. 💪💪💪

As we came to the top of the knoll we began to see blueberry bushes. Here is a picture of some of the blueberries we found. Charlotte was really good at finding them. She went to girls camp before this trip and learned a lot about edible plants in Alaska so she knew how to look for the blueberries.

The view from the top was awesome! It was a fun hike.
